Become a Tenant: Park Services

Copy Machines

The M & P Copy & Ship Center provides copying machines in the Garvin Innovation Center, Research Building XVI, Research Building X, Research Building XII, VTKW I and the RBVIII Building. Tenants receive a code number from the M & P Copy & Ship Center to use when copying. Tenants receive a monthly bill based on the copies made at $0.10 per one-sided black and white copy. Please call M & P Copy & Ship Center at 951-2972 if you have any questions.

Conference Rooms

CRC-controlled conference rooms may be reserved on a “first-come, first-served” basis by calling CRC Administration. More >>

Housekeeping

Occasionally, tenants will need housekeeping service beyond that called for in their lease. These services can be contracted for by contacting CRC Administration

Keys

Keys at the CRC are state-issued and non-duplicative. Keying a door costs $28.00 and keys cost $2.00 each. The CRC will provide keys for all locks in your space at the onset of the lease. We will provide one outside door key for each person who will originally occupy the office and one key for your inside door for each of these persons. Additional keys may be requested from CRC Administration and will be charged to you on your Tenant Services invoice.

The importance of not losing these keys cannot be emphasized enough. If keys are lost, and the security of any tenants space is jeopardized, the tenant may be held responsible for re-keying all locks to which the lost key has access. In others words, if you lose an outdoor key, one which every tenant in the building has, they you may have to replace every lock and every key in the building. Also, please do not attempt to duplicate any keys.

Signage

The CRC provides signage for each tenant on the internal suite door and on the outdoor building kiosk, providing that space is available. The CRC will provide replacement signage at cost, if necessary due to a name change.

Note the following pricing schedule:

New Door Sign Frame $50
New Door Insert $35
Door Insert Update $15
New Directional Frame and Strip $15
Directory Strip Update $15
Directional Strip Update $15
3-Panel Kiosk Update (3) $45

Please contact CRC Administration if you have any questions.

Vending

Vending machines with light snacks and various beverages are located in all buildings. The machines are managed by the university’s vending service contractor. The CRC has no control over the content of the machines. Reimbursement forms are located near the vending machines in each building. To be reimbursed for money lost in a machine, please fill out a form and send it to the CRC administrative office.

Picnic Tables

The CRC has placed picnic tables strategically throughout the park. Please do not relocate the tables. Tables in the vicinity of the Sigma Grill restaurant are their property. Users of those tables should be patrons of the Sigma Grill when they use them.

Richmond Office

Virginia Tech has offered CRC tenants free use of the university’s Richmond office. The office is centrally located on 12th Street near Shockhoe Slip. The office complex includes a conference room that seats 20 people, 4 individual offices, and office equipment. Use of the office should be coordinated with the Richmond office at (804) 786-8110. They can also assist with parking.

Building Opening and Closing Procedures

Tenants are responsible for securing the doors to their own space. The CRC staff is responsible unlocking all common entry doors around 7:00 a.m. each morning and re-locking again around 5:00 p.m. The exception for this is for six holidays – New Year’s, Memorial, Independence, Labor, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the Friday before is used as the holiday closing; if the holiday is on Sunday, the Monday following will be observed as the holiday. Notices are sent to notify tenants when CRC staff will not unlock buildings.

It is important for you to note that personnel entering the building after hours, on weekends, or on holidays, are responsible for locking the building when they leave. The common entry doors should always remain locked after hours to prevent unauthorized entry into the building.

Please contact CRC Administration if you have any questions.

Mail Delivery/Pick up

Apartment-type mailboxes are provided for each building within the park. These are located in areas accessible for entry by the post office to make Saturday deliveries. Tenants are responsible for replacing the lock and keys, should keys be lost. Mail will be delivered to your mailbox Monday - Saturday around 11:00 a.m. Outgoing mail should be in the Outgoing Mail slot by 10:00 a.m. each day to ensure pickup. Each building has an inside mail room and any outgoing mail that is too large in size or quantity for the slot may be placed in the U.S. Outgoing Mail receptacle located in that room.

Also, for your convenience, a U.S. mail drop box is located in front of the Garvin Center. The last pick up is around 4:30 p.m. each day.

Please contact CRC Administration if you have any questions.

Overnight Mail

Drop boxes for private carriers (FedEx, UPS, and DHL) are located behind the First National Bank ATM in the parking lot across the street from the U.S. Postal Service drop box at the entrance to the Garvin Center. FedEx drop boxes are also located behind the Waste Policy Institute Building at 2000 Kraft Drive. Pickup by the private carriers occurs between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. each weekday. There are no week end pick ups from these boxes.

Billing

Billing for tenant services occurs around the first of each month and payment is due within 30 days of receipt of the bill. Late payments will be assessed a 1.5% interest charge.

Please contact CRC Administration if you have any questions.
