Become a Tenant: Telecommunication Services General
Information
The CRC makes
available network and internet connection services to park tenants.
This service currently consists of a 1 gigabyte fiber backbone connection
between buildings and a connection to the internet through 4 T-1
lines from 2 different providers. A Cisco 6509 Switch provides the
core services. Most buildings are wired with CAT-5 cabling and configured
on a 10baseT or 100baseT switch topology. This system is managed
for the CRC by BizNet.
If you have technical questions about our setup contact them at
961-7560 or at hostmaster@vtcrc.net.
Companies may sign up for service by completing a Service
Request. This system is managed as a shared network with the
assumption that average usage can be conglomerated across many
tenants resulting in substantial savings and high capacity. As
such we do reserve the right to move high bandwidth tenants off
the general system.

CRC Credit:
Many of you made a strong case that some of the data charges
should be treated as a utility and be included in the rent you
already pay. While we cannot at this time cover a substantial
portion of basic data service that way, the CRC has been able
to transfer some infrastructure costs to building costs that are
paid out of rent income (this will not trigger any rent increase!).
We are crediting these savings back to you by a formula that gives
you credit for how long you have been in the park and for the
size of the suite that you have. The amount of savings that can
be passed back to you may vary over time to keep within our need
to make sure that all our data costs are covered but hopefully
we can continue giving some credits for the foreseeable future.
