About Biological Monitoring, Inc. (BMI): BMI is an environmental consulting firm located at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center. The firm has been in existence since 1980 and specializes in environmental risk assessments, aquatic toxicology and other environmental issues. Employees gain a wide variety of valuable experience in the environmental sciences.

Job Description: Primarily, the selected successful candidate will be required to assist in routine aquatic macroinvertebrate studies. This may include sample collection, specimen sorting, identification down to Genus level (excluding chironomids) and data assessments. Applicant should be familiar with the use of dichotomous keys. The majority of the work will be conducted at BMI. This is a part time temporary position with flexible hours.

Candidate Requirements: A good work ethic and a strong desire to gain experience in a commercial laboratory environment. Applicant must be available to work immediately. Salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
