VirPack is a leading developer and innovator of advanced, web-based document management software with an established presence in the mortgage banking industry. We are looking to hire a full-time Business Analyst to join our team. The role of the Business Analyst within VirPack is to provide documentation and project support for Project Management and Product Management for VirPack and VirPack’s products, modules, components, interfaces etc. The Business Analyst is responsible for developing customer and internal project requirements, specifications, statement of work documents, and other artifacts as necessitated by the project or processes. The business analyst assists product and project in ascertaining the customer or market need and is responsible, as a member of the project or product team, for ensuring the services or solution provided meets the business need. This role will work closely with other teams to ensure project completion and product deployment. Additionally, the business analyst may be expected to participate in customer facing events, such as customer conferences or webinars, as need arises.

Responsibilities for this position will include developing solutions that meet customer and product needs through analyzing and writing requirements; proposing process and software solutions; and ensuring final deployed projects meet customer and requirement standards.

We’re looking for a self-motivated individual willing to take the lead on projects and contribute to the business analyst foundation. An ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience as a business analyst or commensurate experience serving either the financial or document management solution industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and document requirements by studying business functions and customer needs; gathering information; evaluating and documenting requirements and test guidelines.
  • Proposes system improvements by studying current system use.
  • Recommends business analyst process improvements by identifying problems and writing improved procedures.
  • Defines and documents professional services projects including statement of work requirements, that clearly identify the customer or business need, proposed solution, and final implementation with a clearly defined project timeline.
  • Identify project milestones, phases; and establishing project costs.
  • Communicate directly with customers to identify project needs.
  • Identify and communicate project risks to ensure high confidence in project success.
  • Provides reference materials for users by assisting in writing and maintaining user documentation.
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of analyzing, and defining software functionality requirements or similar experience.
  • Detail oriented
  • Effective and efficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with communicating with customer representatives to understand and obtain sign off on requirements
  • Experience creating effective documentation
  • Experiencing creating test guidelines
  • Experience collaborating with Product Management, Developers, Quality Assurance Analysts, IT staff, and Technical Writers
  • Familiar with effective Project Management
  • Experience with financial and imaging software applications preferred.
