Role

PowerHub Systems is looking for a skilled technician to assist in the assembly of test fixtures and prototype systems.  We are a small team of engineers and craftsmen working on the cutting edge of power electronics. We are in need of someone with a passion for electrical and mechanical assemblies that can thrive in a fast paced, high energy environment.  As a close knit organization, our team members often wear many hats and we are looking for a multifaceted individual that is ready to fill a dynamic role. The nature of the job will revolve around the development of equipment that produces hazardous voltages and currents, so experience around electrical test equipment and/or in a power lab environment is a must.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years experience supporting an Engineering Lab, 10-15 years preferred
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent VISA required (H-1B VISA support not available)
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

Specific Skills Required

  • Soldering
    • Moderate complexity SMT and thru hole component soldering to IPC standards
    • Proficient soldering and/or making board modifications under a microscope
    • Familiar with PCB assembly drawings, rework instructions, and related documents
  • Wire Assemblies
    • Proficient at cable termination and crimping of electrical terminals to IPC standards
    • Proficient at assembly and repair of custom wire harnesses
  • Mechanical Assembly
    • Proficient at hand and power tool usage and safety
    • Fabrication and machining skills are a plus
  • Work Ethic
    • Proficient at record keeping and documentation
    • Strong organizational skills and high cleanliness standards
    • Works with minimal supervision and has a drive to learn new technology
  • Physical Demands
    • Must be able to be stationary for long periods of time
    • Exceptional eyesight and steady hands to work on PCB parts as small as 0402
    • Some travel for overnight trips to assist in training other factory technicians
