Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to support the Director, Finance & Accounting, with day to day accounting tasks, account analysis, and period end closing activities. This position will assume ownership of a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to, fixed asset accounting and database management, inter-company accounting, disbursements review and administrative functions in support of internal reporting requirements. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will support financial closing activities and perform other duties as assigned.


  • Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the fixed asset software system and prepare journal entries to correct and reconcile fixed asset ledger accounts as needed.
  • Prepare complex excel spreadsheets to track, analyze and report financial information in a meaningful way.
  • Assist in monthly close procedures, including preparing and recording necessary journal entries in Accounting software as well as preparing complex account reconciliations.
  • Perform reconciliations, analysis, and reporting related to assigned accounts.
  • Assist in annual external audit including preparation of audit schedules, audited financial statements, footnote disclosures.
  • Assist in performing periodic internal audits of selected internal procedures and data and analyze the results.
  • Prepare and process accounts receivable invoices and payments received.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Assist in preparation of supporting schedules related to quarter-end and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Serves as backup for other accounting functions and other duties as assigned.
  • Understand daily activities of the department and provide assistance when needed to ensure daily and period goals/deadlines are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in the accounting field.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), industry accepted methodology and applications.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Advanced experience with MS Excel, with extensive knowledge of lookups and pivot tables required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge or major accounting software packages for general ledger. MS Dynamics SL preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Access, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Management Reporter or similar programs.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
  • The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his/her work product, paying close attention to detail and accuracy.


  • Ability to communicate effectively with a vast number of departments to obtain information concerning purchase orders, receiving and other expenses.
  • Intricate knowledge of MS Excel and ability to use advanced Excel formulas.
  • Ability to efficiently manage tasks and adjust rapidly to changing environmental priorities.
  • Demonstrate the highest ethical standards and trustworthiness.
