SIGs provide a venue to discuss leading-edge topics, the latest tools, industry best practices and builds professional relationships all while educating, motivating and exchanging energizing ideas and perspectives with other professionals.

Topic: Wi-Fi a Mess? Try Mesh! …and everything else you ever wanted to know about Wi-Fi but were too afraid to ask!

Join us as we kick off the 2019 IT SIG group and learn some tips and tricks to improve your home and office Wi-Fi networks. This seminar is open to everyone at the VTCRC who uses the internet – not just tech heads! We’ll talk through options for equipment, setup, and configuration to boost your speed and streamline your operations. We’ll also cover technology, security, and have plenty of time for your questions.

Matt McHugh

  • 15+ years programming experience in web development
  • joined Excella in 2010 as a team lead / mentor in the Extension Center
  • took over as lead mentor in 2012, currently responsible for education curriculum and training new mentors
  • Certifications in the following; MCSA: Web Applications, Certified Scrum Developer, Certified ScrumMaster, MS: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS, MCTS: Web Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4, MCSD: Web Applications

Doug Mauer

  • 25 years wireless and wire-line network design, implementation, management and support including residential apartment complex, fiber to the home, and commercial business parks. In the course of this work, he has implemented Point-to-Point Wi-Fi radio links to extend internet to widespread areas where other Internet options are not available.
