Tech-Talk: Modern Event-Driven Programming w/Python-Twisted

By Glyph Lefkowitz, @Rackspace 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Twisted is an event-driven network programming framework written in Python, now nearing its 15th anniversary. Where traditionally most hardware interrupt driven programming used classic C/C++ or assembly based programming stacks, the modern interpreter (such as python) is more than adequate at most software level based "event-driven" programming. Twisted is the preferred network event-driven module for handling real time IO such as TCP, UDP, SSL/TLS, IP multicast, Unix domain sockets and a plethora of application layer client/server protocols.

If you've used Twisted before, come and learn about the latest developments in the ecosystem; if you're new to it, discover how to use tools from the Twisted ecosystem to rapidly build multi-protocol API backends, web front-ends, and multi-platform desktop GUI applications.
