The Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center welcomed TEDS, Inc. to the research park in November 2013. TEDS picked the research park because of its ability to attract talent to the area; specifically, the location between Virginia Tech and Radford University allows the company easier access to recruit computer science graduates.

Dr. Joe Meredith, President of the VTCRC said, "The Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center is thrilled that TEDS, Inc. is joining the VTCRC community. The VTCRC continues to be attractive to high quality companies like them that have great track records of success."

As a talent management software development and services company, their software provides companies the capability to integrate its people processes through a fully integrated system that consists of a single user interface, application and database (examples of talent management activities include recruiting, staffing, learning and skills development).

The company is proud to have pioneered the concept of the Learning Management System (LMS) and Talent Management Systems. While working on the first LMS, Chief Executive Officer Joe Ellis adapted the principles of Materials Resource Planning (MRP) to create a dynamic new workforce methodology that he calls People Resource Planning (PRP). Today, PRP is commonly known as talent management. PRP is defined as the optimization of development, performance and deployment of an organization’s human capital to achieve the desired business outcome in the shortest amount of time and at the lowest cost. The concept of PRP is not only about responding to change, but also staying ahead of it by developing and allocating human resources to best respond to the current and future changes of the marketplace and the company’s goals.

The company has recently formed an alliance with API Healthcare to bring their talent management solutions to the healthcare sector. TEDS’ experience allows large hospitals to run more efficiently.

TEDS’ passion for talent management solutions is not all they care about; they also take great pride in their employees and feel no one person’s job is more important than another's. Ellis believes that a company is only as good as its employees and that each one has valuable assets that contribute to the overall success of the team.
