Additional Information

Eric Pauley is co-founder and CEO of Terrace Networks, a startup specializing in AI-driven threat intelligence. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech. He completed his Ph.D. in the Computer Sciences department at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Before coming to UW–Madison, he co-founded and sold an email marketing technology startup, Sendtric.

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence, and particularly Agentic AI, has fundamentally altered software security in a matter of months. Agents are beginning to outperform humans at discovering and exploiting vulnerabilities, and their scale has led to a surge of attacks against the systems we all depend on. I’ll discuss why this happened so suddenly, what Terrace Networks is doing to respond to the AI exploitation era, and finally close with a more general exploration of how AI will continue to impact our professional and personal lives.
